New Connected Traveler Technology
Showcase To
Demonstrate Technologies that Touch Travelers Lives
San Francisco Event to Present New
Tech Products to Travel,
Technology and Business Media
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.,–March 23,
2011–The Connected Traveler Technology Showcase, a new event that will exhibit
the latest travel tech products and services will take place in San Francisco
May 23. This independently produced event
features demonstrations by manufacturers, developers, and tech-savvy
destinations and travel suppliers. It is
open to international travel reporters as well as San Francisco and Silicon
Valley’s technology, feature, business and broadcast media and takes place
during the week of Pow Wow, the travel industry’s premier international conference
in North America.
“We realized that there are plenty of technology trade shows
that cater to the tech media, but none bring the wealth of products and innovative
technologies to travel press whose readers and viewers are constantly in search
of new mobile devices, apps, cameras, and accessories, said Pat Meier-Johnson,
co-producer of The Connected Traveler Technology Showcase. “The travel press includes
a large audience of reporters who don’t go to tech trade shows but they are
always in search of information that can improve their readers’ travel
experience,” she added.
Tablets, notebooks, mobile phones, GPS devices, cameras, mobile
storage, accessories and chargers for multiple countries, connectivity, and
portable health products are becoming an integral part of most road warriors’
lives. “In addition to the necessities,
there are many products that make traveling safer and more enjoyable including
devices that let you track your valuables from your mobile phone, portable
drives and applications that let you take your office on the road, new
protective luggage that makes getting through airport security smoother, web sites that get you where you’re going, even augmented reality that gives you vital
information about the places you visit,” said Russell Johnson, editor of the
award-winning site, www.connectedtraveler.com
and co-producer of the event.
Individual travelers are not the only ones who are using the
latest technologies. Hotels, airlines,
cruise lines, museums, restaurants and other hospitality attractions are
harnessing new tech products to distinguish themselves from their competitors. “These innovations mean guests can experience
their surroundings in entirely new ways thanks to management’s creative
thinking and responsiveness,” said Pat Meier-Johnson.
